At which difficulty will a new snowfield be activated?
41
thanks
is it just me or had the difficulty gotten a bit less lately (down to 23 from 24)?
it is less, down from almost 40 to 39
I am personally only 1/1000th of the mining and I am throwing about a kilowatt of power at it
so assuming my efficiency it is collectively using about a megawatt
which tickles me
in a good way or makes you conscious?
(and why does my pool miner report 23?)
in a good way, that people are willing to spend money on it
means we might have something here
so your personal difficulty to a pool is so that you are working on small enough chunks that the pool can tell you are doing work
so that is what the 23 is
it will adjust up if you mine fast
and older pool versions adjusted it up faster
ah ok, hm 39 is rather close to 41. Was thinking about renting a 256GB RAM server for a month
41 is 4x as much hash power as 39
it is log2 scale
OK thanks. Well, I think you are doing a good job constantly developing, the market for big-ass ICO funded projects is dead and a lot of people have a hang-over. PoW via hashing got a bad rep for energy waste - there are definitely people interested in snowblossom and other CPU-PoW projects :slightly_smiling_face:
yeah, it is fun
Of course the fact that notsofast mentioned you on Twitter did help as well, I assume
I am out of the loop and don't know who that is
One of the big guns when it comes to crypto mining, esp. spec mining. dude starts mining everything that looks promising within a blink of an eye
nice
and from what I can tell (don't really know him) seems to be helpful and kind as well
@Johannes when did he mention SnowBlossom?
@Johannes Can you link the tweet where he mentions snowblossom
