SO, who all pays attention to what's happening in here anyway? :P
the devs are totally here to listen, and we have ideas for snowblossom's future.
@Clueless Can we hear your guys plans?
I’ve been wanting to see a roadmap on dev plans. But if you guys are looking for input I’d be glad to chime in
when do we have official Twitter?
snowblossomcoin
just not posted anything
@CryptoQuan always open to input
damn, someone's downloading the torrent from me at 50MB/s
limited to 1B/s
@Clueless Will the team release a roadmap?
this is what we have for now.
how can it be better formed?
step by step
Looks good. I think going forward, SnowBlossom's purpose needs to be determined. Why does it need to exist? I see so many projects that offer a new approach, but they tack on features that don't really provide any value. For instance, would SnowBlossom be best used for a currency? Would it be best suited for an application platform? Or a utility coin for a unique service? Things like this need to be worked out. Otherwise, there isn't much usecase for SnowBlossom.
@quantumblockz a combination there of.
Yes, right now snowblossom doesn't have much use.
it provides features and POW that beat out a lot of competition, but until something accepts it, it's hard to use it
agreed
@alistar @quantumblockz btw, I've started towards a Python GUI wallet
:+1:
and website
Thanks for the update @Clueless. Didn't mean to sound bearish, just wanted to give some advice/constructive criticism as an investor and community member. You guys have done so much development in such a short time that rivals some of the top 10 projects. I appreciate what you're doing and have the utmost faith in this project.
Finally, we will win.
Need opinions
sleep time
Need sync node?
or remote node?
Looking good @Clueless !
I can work on a website if that will free you up
But definitely agree with @quantumblockz, we need to agree to a purpose for Snowblossom
I think the Custom POW and Quantum Resistance are enough of a differentiator, but others may have bigger plans/thoughts
@Clueless https://snowcn.org/ Chinese Fans Website
@alistar sweet! Later, I'll definitely want to make a mandarin translation, possibly cantonese as well? Also, if you want to mock up a website to look at designs, we can even vote if you want
i’d not claim quantum this or that - that’ll turn off technical people - wishing well upon unknown unknowns is not a good look
as for purpose, the PoW is not limited by energy as much as compute limited mining is
@Clueless okay, I can translate to mandarin. all Chinese know Mandarin include Hongkong, so we dont need cantonese version.
Sounds good
@Rotonen yeah, I hear you. Really we should always say quantum resistance with a pointer back to the wiki saying that with currently known algorithms we expect large RSA keys to take much larger quantum machines and the protocol supports adding additional signing methods so we are ready to add in top entries or the winner from the NIST PQ contest as that goes along.
Which is a better spot that most, probably
I should see if any of those contestants have java implementations that I could plug in on testnet
@Clueless forget making it prettier for now, that is solid already
make it work
then make it prettier
smart
Looks great @Clueless
I’m working on a logo design that I think will be perfect. Should have it finalized tomorrow
@quantumblockz Well. This is a community. We want to know what you want to do. We also don't want to announce anything we haven't thought about for awhile.
Are there any new people here? I would like to grill you and get your opinions. :D
@Fireduck even that's assuming shor's algorithm to be the final frontier of quantum attacks even though the whole field in its infancy
@Fireduck but the green low energy angle might be marketable, and also actually true
I prefer to stay in the realm of nearly true and actually true when possible
and yeah, based on currently known algorithms
@Rotonen @Fireduck Do you feel I should add the green thing as a feature? Even if accidental?
My basement doesn't feel very green
I'm putting about 1kW into snowblossom mining
if you scale up, your hashrate will most likely not be limited by your capacity to negotiate a bigger contract and a power feed with the utility company, but by affording the IO
and thinking that through, i tend to arrive at hash per watt calculations which look very promising for NVMe mining on the long run
like one can get 100kH/s on a ~40W total system power budget even now
I am asking my builder to put in a few new power circuits to my server room :wink:
I could do it myself, but I tend to do safe and effective electric work, not pretty electrical work
at some point you want someone to actually use their experience in overspeccing your wiring as you'll probably use more in the future and then they can just switch the fuse, or somesuch
or you're hitting a limit where you'd need to go three phase?
Lol
In the US, residential is usually only wired with 1 phase (or 1 and a half phase, depending on how you call it)
two hots, 180 degrees apart
@Rotonen I want your opinion on proper design. What should I go for?
but I could have them put it in as 10 awg and be able to switch to 50A circuits if needed
@Clueless design of what?
