@Fireduck @Rotonen
You think it's fair to say things like:
Our revolutionary custom IO based POW incentives the creation of better and faster storage, while using lower power, and promoting asic resistance.
?
Clueless
@Fireduck is the SIP 2 change in master yet?
2018-07-31 02:05:39
Yep
Fireduck
ok
I think i'm like several releases late on this
still running stuff from sip2 branch
2018-07-31 02:07:55
Ah
Fireduck
I wonder if you guys could add the quantum resistance features to things like Zenchat
I know ARK ACES has just launched a new set of tools to make it easier for blockchains to communicate, the ZEN component isnt done yet
the idea being anyone could convert whatever currencies are connected through this ARK ACES service into ZEN ->add snowblossom quantum tx to it and have more secure messaging?
their chat uses AES-256 and PFS, claims to be the most secure in the world…though its performance is very slow and technically it’s an alpha product
or just launch an ARK Aces service which can slap quantum resistance onto whatever transaction is desired ( ie ARK to BTC, ETH to BTC etc…)

@Clueless leave ’revolutionary’ and ’custom’ out, spell ’incentivizes’ correctly and do not claim to be in a position to change and push around the whole storage market, and drop that kind of use of ’promoting’, but you’re off to a start
Rotonen

@Clueless also note i’ll never like any marketing so consider me a wall or a mirror, not a target audience (or just ignore me)

Got another stupid question. I tried sending 1SNOW from one of my addresses to the other. Ran the bazel-bin/SnowBlossomClient client.conf send <new address>
dcryptt
2018-07-31 09:54:54
What ended up happening was that I sent all of my SNOW to that address, and 1 was left in the previous address I had all of it in. Why is that?

@CryptoQuan sometimes the most obvious thing works, i’d be fine with that
Rotonen
2018-07-31 15:36:19
@dcryptt most likely it sent what you told it where you told it but to do that had the rest of your snow as change.
Fireduck
2018-07-31 15:36:34
In 1.3 that would go to a fresh change address
Fireduck
2018-07-31 15:36:58
Before 1.3 it would go to one of your address at random
Fireduck
2018-07-31 15:37:11
Which could be the address you sent to
Fireduck
2018-07-31 15:41:10
I see, but did this only happen because I was sending from one of my wallet addresses to another one? Like, if I were to send an amount of SNOW to someone else, an external address, I shouldn't worry that something like this would happen, right? Please excuse my limited technical know-how :upside_down_face:

Exactly. If you find the transaction on the explorer and http://look.at the ins and outs it will likely make sense to you.

@Rotonen why not "custom" ?
Clueless
2018-07-31 17:06:31
I agree with @Rotonen. Anything that says "promotes" makes me think of people selling bullshit supplements and promotes is one of the words the FDA doesn't fine them for claiming

Our storage IO based PoW will hopefully shift mining control from specialized ASIC fleets to regular nerds with storage hardware that is fun to own regardless.

the issue remaining is the need for a good clever narrative for ’wide random reads’
Rotonen
2018-07-31 19:38:24
that would probably need an explanatory video
