oh you got one of the epycs and they forgot to install an nvme disk, or how come there is downtime? all of the stuff i have from them is hotpluggable
that's actually a downside of m.2 - not seen hotswap yet
i guess that's the selling point of u.2
no problem. i appointed it for that time. they already told me a week ago.
I guess my basement will be a little cooler at that time
I'm having 2 20A circuits and an exhaust fan installed.
nice.
it is from their server auction where you rent older hardware.
Intel Core i7-930, HDD 2x HDD SATA 750 GB, RAM6 x RAM 4096 MB DDR3 for 35€ month.
and a 240 GB SSD is what was missing. :slightly_smiling_face:
for that money you could also get the 3770, but with spinny disks
it is for the pool only right now.
or apparently the E3-1246V3 with a slightly better ssd
ah. the E3 must be new on the market. hadn't seen it there before.
i prefer to sort by the cpu benchmark with a price limit to catch that kinda stuff, but could be they're just dumping the two-old px series onto the auction now - i've not seen them there before either
they even now have some of the gpu machines on the auction
would have been nice a year ago.
well, the price is essentially the same used as new, though
but without setup fee.
if you plan to run that for a year or two, that'll run to about 5% .. 10% extra on top, meh
also they have a campaign about twice per year for 'fee off thing x' per thing
yep. i rented a server days before they had this month without setup fee. lol.
i only rent after having read their newsletter
for about that reason
also their marketing works as i'd not remember them otherwise
if i want to run snowblossom from ssd, all i have to do is to copy the snowblossom folder?
"As discussed, we have installed one 240GB SSD at your server."
i am moving the whole home dir to the ssd now. i think that's more straight forward.
server back online.
woot
i know, it's unbelievable but it is true.
