confucious, the best type of correct; Technically.
i just hit a situation where someone had thought it's cool to have a make clean target which fails when some arbitrary specific boost header is not found, oh the humanity
it builds some sleep helper with boost sleep to circumvent a filesystem bug
i guess bash is out of fashion these days?
Google has their own bash called gbash
i guess they need more consistency
and i hope they do something special with subshells
I'm sure. As I avoided doing any work for five years I wouldn't know.
here’s a tree photo for @Clueless
I like it
@fydel that twix box was actually pretty full I have no complaints
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVHcdgrqbHE&t=1748s YouTube Video: Linux Sucks. Forever. - Filmed live at Linux Fest NW - April 28, 2018
IBM buys redhat meaning open source not sustainable?
Maybe snow needs a treasury of some sort?
i do not understand either of the suppositions put forth
IBM purch of red hat is a affirmation of open source - they are clawing to get a piece of the pie. Likely will blue wash the tech but Linux will not perish
@Fireduck how much did you end up selling 1209k for? mustve felt like a baby that project, do you get similar vibes conceiving Snow or this more of a work/research station? also you should totally throw 1209k into the wiki as apart of the resume, surprised u havent already
I never sold 1209k
i was under the impression u concieved 1209k which was then sold to erik. then it got rebranded to satoshidice and then sold for like 120kbtc
i’d not trust any party in that story in what they say about it
I see the confusion, 1209k is the domain I used and continue to use for various little projects
ahh, ok ic my bad. so then you simply sold the algorithm(?). could you substitute the truth for the confusion in my first text. I understand my petty ass is of no significance in the global scheme of things project related so you really don't have to answer but it will help me sleep at night.
Ah. The overall deal was more complicated and I'd rather not get into it. I have no complaints on how that turned out for me.
where’s that 120k figure from?
thats what Erik, the follow up owner would have sold the algo with all the satoshidice marketing implemented for.
i rarely see public citations like that and closed deals match
@Fireduck you must've have that tingly sensation of knowing you are onto something when building that algo way back. you feel the same tingle with snowblossom?
it’s a tug of war and you have an easier time pulling when staking further up the field to begin with
in other silliness, what is up with http://cex.io postfixing all of their communications with ’legal crypto exchange’? :P
to attrack boomers lol
brb gtg
@fishpapi, actually, yeah, same tingle
Nobody mention burst coin yet here (did a search) hopefully the founders are aware these projects and chia
I don't recall. I read something about chia but don't remember anything.
I try to avoid knowing things getting in the way of doing things.
peak snark to be had if you call HD wallet seeds chia blossoms
Chia, last news in March, no working software
haah
Burst has a bunch of diagrams
so it is probably good
(I have no idea)
@Fireduck relatedly you should sell red snapbacks with the word ’MARKET’ on the front via something like spreadshirt
I have completely lost the thread on what is going on
I feel like I've swapped everything in my mind to disk and then forgot to load anything else
i find people asking about market caps the same as the enquiry above
at least you could provide them one monetizable they desire
hah, now I get it
that one is so obvious i’m surprised no one apparently did it so far
If I put the snowblossom logo on it and sell it for $15, then when they ask what the snowblossom market cap is, I can tell them $15
turning this into an apparel brand sounds about right
I've thought about it. The problem is constantly sending someone to asia to yell at suppliers.
Basically every line of women's clothing has 1) massive consistency problems 2) rapidly changing nonsensical produce lines
I want to make a brand where we don't change fit/style or sizing. Call it LTS (Long Term Support)
As a man, it is easy for me. I've been buying the same shirts from the same place for two decades.
i did not point out to spreadshirt and the likes for nothing - they do that
you can buy into scale these days
pull volume, get a personal rep, demand premium
interesting
and can get started on their risk too
@Fireduck @Rotonen Snowblossom mention https://youtu.be/00JWPcoCJek?t=587 YouTube Video: Miner's Oasis Episode 5
haha
with that view count whomever pasted it to the discord is just promoting themselves?
their focus seems to be "mining profitability" bah and yeah, probably
Yeah, it seems like those guys were looking for investment/speculation plays
which is fine for them but isn't the sort of short term thing I care much about optimizing for
the majority of what such parties seek are early companies to ride with for a bit
makes sense
short term 2x is huge from the point of view of normal trading
7 year 2x is an actual definition of normal
see also seven ten decay
fun how radioactive decay and risk fitting work the same
