@Fable, so with Arktika each node needs file access to all chunks, but it should be in a lower layer if it is over a network
over a network, remote is way way faster
since it is a snowblossom specific packed protocol
so I have a machine with everything in ram and it shares via arktika and nfs.
so the config for a remote node looks like this:
layer_count=2 layer_0_type=remote layer_0_host=jet layer_0_threads=20 layer_0_range=0,127 layer_1_type=file layer_1_path=/snow layer_1_threads=0
So to access the file chunk from the LAN, a Snowblossom node has to run on the machine being accessed for the chunk? So is the chunk actually accessed through the Snowblossom node on that specific machine that is listed as the host on the layer config? And that is why it is faster?
makes note to test this so he can answer questions better
@Fable not at all. The arktika remote layer uses another arktika
i have a sad story to share.
oh
i was waking home from work and i saw babymouse bro on the pavement. he was clearly in distress and looking for food or water.
it is a rough world
i gave him some bread and went to my flat (50 meters away) to take a can to put him in and to carry him to my flat to feed him for some days and make him a strong mouse for the winter.
when i was back a couple of minutes ago someone stepped on mouse bro and he was dead.
yeah. it is a rough world.
awww
ja. RIP babybrother.
Restart your mining pool with a special remark in remembrance?
good idea.
but i dont understand how to do it.
can you give more help/examples on the new special adds features?
in your pool.conf, you have a line that says "remark=hamsterpool"
change that to "remark=hamsterpool - in memory of mouse bro" (or whatever you want)
and restart your mrplow
wait till you solve a block or two and put it back
that is all I am suggesting
ah. okay.
i thought you ment the new features of sp3
i can't change the remark. i think it will screw up my pool script.
but why not try.
cool
so i should probably have a remark ’hamsterpool - but really snowplough’
change remark to "snowplough - RIP baby brother mouse bro" lol
i feel better now.
the big miner did not like it and has left now.
i think he is anti-mouse.
