Anyone try arktika?
I have a refurbished Dell R900 with 256gb coming this week
@Fireduck the PSU is sorta the heart and soul of how your computer ticks, grounding quality and smaller DC ripple make ~everything easier for the hardware - also quality at non-max loads is a thing, seasonic is sorta the industry reference for that (for example corsair, for some of their high end models, just whitelabels seasonic) - but maybe not worth tripling the price (~any gold certified and better PSU should do, but a passive one is nice)
this might be more reasonably priced and being lower specced perversely enough makes it better suited for the task at hand (details of DC ripple at low loads): https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4YphP6/seasonic-power-supply-ss520fl2
Agreed. I've learned that if you get a cheap psu your life sucks
same could be said for a chair
even the 400W one could do as you're not getting anything ridiculously power hungry like a high end discrete GPU: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fBXfrH/seasonic-power-supply-ss400fl2
also triple check you get an EPS connector
iirc threadrippers want the workstationy power feed
Those are the 8 pin 12v connection right?
