@Clueless I need something and don't know the terminology. So the DHT22 connects to three pins on the pi gpio board.

I want to put the sensor a few feet away from the pi so need an extension cable of some sort

I don't want to extend all 40 pins, just those that are needed. I'll be putting other sensors on other pins.

@Fireduck I have 4 conductor wire.

Clueless

and probably that sensor as well

Clueless

Do you have connectors that you put on the wire?

Fireduck

yes.

Clueless

I've used those of course but never assembled them

Fireduck

probably easiest to solder the wires to the sensor and connectors on the other end.

Clueless

I don't solder. Against my religion.

Fireduck

I can do either.

The lord spake and said let the connectors be lose and maybe slide off because chaos is fin

I'll go check my parts pile. I have the senors on the way alreayd.

I have dupont connectors. You can arrange them in plugs however you want.
so 8x 1x1, or 2x 4x1

actually, a 3 pin case fan extension works perfectly

Looks like I don't need a resistor
